The Group supports quality improvement through the sharing of good practice and a rigorous audit programme that includes quality reviews; observations of teaching and learning and learner and employer feedback.
The principle objectives for the Group when engaging in collaborative partnership activity are to:
- Promote the principles of best practice as set out in the LSIS publication “Supply Chain Management – a good practice guide for the post-16 skills sector” (Nov 2012)
- Undertake fair and transparent procurement activities, conducting robust due diligence procedures on potential and existing subcontractors to ensure compliance with the EU requirements
- Adhere to the overarching principle of the Common Accord to ensure the high quality teaching and learning
- Contribute to Government national and regional targets in funding and attainment
- Promote wider access to education and training through making it accessible from a wider range of geographical areas, particularly for part-time students
- Promote wider access through promoting progression from FE to HE
- Meet regional and local demand, supporting growth in provision in the area served by the partner and meet identified skill shortages and the needs of industry
- Support established, new and emerging markets
- Share good practice and enhance the student learning experience for all partners’ students
- Ensuring that potential sub-contractors are assessed against transparent selection criteria
