Jenny Worsdale

Vice Chair and Chair of the Quality and Standards Committee

Jenny started her career as a computer programmer before training as a teacher. In the early part of her career, Jenny taught in both primary, secondary and HE settings before joining FE at Hyde Sixth Form College in the late 80’s. During the 12 years she was at the sixth form college she progressed from lecturer to assistant principal, before moving on to Tameside College as a senior curriculum manager.

Jenny’s executive career advanced during her time at Tameside and she was appointed as vice principal in 2002. She retired as deputy principal in 2014, having been appointed as acting principal for a period of time. Whilst at Tameside, Jenny held several non-executive positions with Tameside Safeguarding Children Board, Groundwork Tameside and the Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network. She stayed on for a year after retirement as vice chair of Droylsden Academy, having dedicated six years to the Academy. Jenny joined the governing body at Hopwood Hall College in January 2018, and was immediately appointed Chair of the standards committee.
