Safeguarding: Keeping You Safe
Here to help
At RNN Group, we want everyone to feel safe, supported and respected.
Safeguarding is about protecting you from harm, supporting your health and wellbeing, and making sure you know where to get help if you need it. It also means knowing how to raise a concern if you are worried about someone else.
If you tell a member of staff, volunteer, visitor or another student that you are experiencing, or are concerned about, abuse or harm, we will listen and take your concerns seriously.
Any concerns about abuse or a risk of harm will be shared with a member of the Safeguarding Team so that the right support and action can be put in place.
If we are concerned that you, or another child or young person, may be at risk of significant harm, we may need to share information with appropriate services to help keep you or others safe.
Wherever possible, we will explain what is happening, why information may need to be shared and how this will help keep you or others safe.
Worried about something?
You don’t have to deal with a concern on your own. If something is worrying you, or you are concerned about someone else, please speak to a member of staff or contact the Safeguarding Team.
Your Prevent duty
Prevent is about safeguarding people and communities from the threat of terrorism. A concern that may be classed as Prevent would be anything that goes against British Values:
- Democracy
- Rule of Law
- Mutual Respect
- Individual Liberty
If you have a concern that someone may be expressing extreme views or is vulnerable to radicalisation, then please speak with a member of staff or the Safeguarding Team.
Stay safe online
Across RNN Group, we want to keep you safe in all aspects of your life, including online. Online safety refers to staying safe when using the internet, social media and digital services. Filtering and monitoring are in place on all College devices, which can alert the Safeguarding Team to content that may be of a safeguarding nature.
Understanding the risks of online content can help you make safer choices. Where needed, appropriate support and interventions will be put in place to help keep you safe. Throughout the year, activities and campaigns help raise awareness of how to stay safe online.
