Government Funding to Support Students

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government recently announced £1billion of funding to support children and young people to be able to catch up on lost time due to school and college closures. This funding is available for the academic year 20/21.

The RNN Group will use this government funding to provide online and face to face support for small groups of 16-19 study programme students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in GCSE Maths and/or English or have struggled to fully develop their digital skills.  We will do this by recruiting additional staff to support the students by:

  • Providing additional teaching and support to students in preparation for GCSE Maths and/or English summer examinations
  • Supporting students to develop their digital skills for successful study

Each group will contain a maximum of five students to ensure they receive the intensive and individualised provision they require to ensure they receive the teaching, learning and support they missed during the course of last academic year.
