Businesses from across Rotherham visited UCR today as part of the Rotherham Pioneers breakfast meeting, which centred around celebrating Rotherham and its future.

The meeting was an opportunity for Phil Sayles, Deputy Principal of the RNN Group, to explain how UCR will work closely with local employers to shape education that will ensure that students have the skills and experience they need to go into successful careers and drive the Rotherham economy.

“UCR will bring massive, positive change to businesses in our town, and we hope to work with many people in this room to make sure UCR has a great impact on Rotherham,” Phil told the attendees.

Jackie Freeborn, Place Manager at Rotherham Metropolitan Council, said that UCR will “change the narrative of Rotherham,” and will encourage people to “open their eyes to all that is good and great in the area.”

The Rotherham Pioneers initiative focuses on bringing businesses in the area together to celebrate what is growing in the business community and to share knowledge, networks and influences to promote Rotherham.
