New technical and professional courses for Retford
From this September 2018, North Notts College part of the RNN Group will start delivering a new range of creative qualifications in the Retford Post 16 Centre. These qualifications are the first of many due to be available within the local area and they complement the existing range of technical and professional courses currently available to study in Retford.
These new courses are part of the RNN Group’s commitment through its Colleges to deliver outstanding technical and professional education and training locally. North Notts College is introducing a new range of specialist Art and Design courses within the centre starting this September. The courses include a Level 3 in Art and Design for learners progressing after GCSEs, a Foundation Diploma to top-up after A-Levels and explore creative pathways before specialising in a chosen art subject at university and an Access to HE Diploma for adults returning to education wanting a creative stepping stone before going to university or into employment.
These new creative qualifications will be available to study in the Retford Post 16 Centre where North Notts College currently offer a range of Hair and Media Make-up, Childcare and Education, and Sport courses.
North Notts College is working towards enhancing the technical and professional courses offer further by seeking approval to utilise more of the Retford Post 16 Centre. With successful support, the College will expand the offer available for post-16 learners, adults returning to education or enhancing their skills and higher-level qualifications including offering degrees locally.
John Connolly, Chief Executive for the RNN Group, which runs the College, said:
“We are delighted to be expanding the education and training options available within the local area by launching these new courses at the Retford Post 16 Centre. We have ambitious plans for the Centre which will deliver an increasing range of technical and professional qualifications including those in the vital higher-level skills which are in great demand from our local and regional employers.”
