RNN Group has been celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with a week-long celebration of all things apprenticeships including webinars for external stakeholders, progression events for learners, case studies across our websites and social media and our awards night at which we welcomed Anthony Impey MBE.

National Apprenticeship Week is an annual event held to promote and celebrate apprenticeships with a week-long celebration of daily themes including Skills for All, Employers, Apprentices, T Levels and ending with a celebration of all of these areas.

RNN Group (made up of campuses including Rotherham College, North Notts College, Dearne Valley College and University Centre Rotherham (UCR)) hosted its annual Apprenticeship Awards Event at our training restaurant, The Wharncliffe, where we hosted local employers at a drinks reception followed by our awards evening.

Anthony Impey MBE, Chief Executive Officer of Be the Business and Chair of the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, met with local businesses to talk to leaders about their experiences of apprenticeships and then joined parents/carers, apprentices and employers for the annual awards.

The event also welcomed Chris Harmby and Hazel Yarlett from the Feoffees of the Common Lands of Rotherham, Rotherham’s oldest charity, to present two awards and prize money for apprentice of the year as well as a new prize for endeavour and merit.

Jason Austin, CEO & Principal, RNN Group said,

“We are always delighted to host these awards to showcase the work they do and this year I was able to announce – to celebrate RNN Group’s 10th anniversary this year – that we will be launching an Apprentice of the Month Award to reward our apprentices further.“

We are grateful to Anthony for coming to the RNN Group to speak with employers and join us for our awards and I am immensely proud of all of our winning apprentices and the hard work they put in whilst studying and working.”
