NFPC Industry Open Day Exhibition 2025
Aspiring engineers are invited to the National Fluid Power Centre (NFPC) Industry Open Day in Worksop on 22 October, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Over 50 exhibitors will showcase innovations in fluid power, motion control, automation, and related technologies.
Attendees can join technical lectures from industry leaders, explore practical training facilities, network with professionals, and discover career development opportunities. A complimentary lunch is provided, followed by an open forum and prize draw.

Speaking on the day, John Savage, Managing Director of NFPC, said:
“This will be a great day to network and discuss the latest technology with these leading national and international companies. Attendees have the opportunity to look around NFPC and see our latest investments in digital technology and performance monitoring, as well as meet my staff and discuss training needs. We look forward to welcoming you!”
Technical Lectures
Hear from top professionals in the field, alongside practical demonstrations and case studies in fluid power and hydraulics.
10:45 am – 11:30 am: Biodegradable Lubricants
Victoria Parrott from Shell PANOLIN will explain how high-performance lubricants can meet environmental standards while protecting equipment. The session covers why biodegradable lubricants are used, their applications, and how advanced fluids such as synthetic esters deliver both environmental performance and equipment protection. Attendees will also learn about a range of readily biodegradable, low ecotoxicity lubricants that meet stringent standards and Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant (EAL) criteria.
11:45 am – 12:30 pm: Machinery & Process Safety
Chris Brogli of ROSS Pneumatrol will share practical strategies to improve safety across machinery and process environments. The talk includes risk assessments, lockout/tagout procedures, and layered safety controls, highlighting system-level approaches to operational safety. Attendees will also gain insight into safety guidebooks and tools that help elevate safety standards globally.
2:00 pm – 2:45 pm: Machine Hydraulic Efficiency
Jon Starkey from Husco will present methods to optimise hydraulic efficiency and overall machine performance. The lecture covers machine testing, data collection, and efficiency analysis, showing how insights drive product development. A real-world example demonstrates how Husco’s MX valve family improved the hydraulic efficiency of a modern construction machine, regardless of energy source.
