RNN Group Retains Investors in Diversity Accolade
We are delighted to announce that, on behalf of the National Centre for Diversity, RNN Group has successfully retained the highly coveted โInvestors in Diversityโ award.
RNN Group (made up of Rotherham College, North Notts College, Dearne Valley College and University Centre Rotherham (UCR)) has retained its Investors in Diversity award following its reassessment process with the National Centre for Diversity.
The Investors in Diversity Award is recognised as the national equality standard which RNN Group has retained. Providing organisations like RNN Group with a bespoke approach for improving Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE) practices in the workplace.

The process of achieving the award helps organisations to place structured FREDIE standards at the heart of everything they do. It gives organisations a recognised bespoke and manageable framework to bring together all of the work they do around FREDIE.
RNN Group first attained the award in 2017 and have continued to be re-awarded this prestigious accolade. Following a thorough re-accreditation review, the organisationโs tireless work for equality and diversity was again rewarded this year and the Group is also ranked 47th in the UK NCFD Top 100 Most Inclusive UK Employers 2025.
RNN Group was particularly praised for its work regarding embedding FREDIE with the report saying that โThere is clear evidence that the values and FREDIE principles are embedded within all areas of the organisation. There is reflection and clear action planning to promote an inclusive and welcoming environment. The IiD action plan has been implemented well, and this can be seen both from survey results and comments made during the IiD assessment.โ
Speaking about RNN Group retaining its Investors in Diversity Award, Jane Hartog, Executive Director of Human Resources, OD and Marketing was quick to praise the wonderful work put into retaining the award.
She said:
โWe are truly delighted to have retained this award. As an organisation, we pride ourselves on our commitment to an inclusive and equal workplace. Laura Reid, Director of Safeguarding and Student Support, said,

It is a powerful validation of the dedication and hard work shown by all our staff and students who actively commit every day to making FREDIE (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement) the absolute norm in our culture and environment. This is not the end of our journey; it is a clear commitment that we will continue to embed these principles in everything we do.โ
The National Centre for Diversity joined in Janeโs praise for the Group. A spokesperson said:
