Commercial Innovation at the RNN Group
RNN Group formally launches its brand new, innovative Logistics Training Hub next week on Monday 20th October, located at Rawmarsh Road in the old Construction facilities of Rotherham College.
The Logistics Hub which focuses on Forklift Truck Training includes two bespoke classrooms for theoretical learning as well as a large simulated warehouse space with shelving and pallets to practice what has been learned in the classroom.
Our training courses
Level 2 Warehousing and Forklift Truck Training
RNN Group is offering a Level 2 Warehousing and Forklift Truck Training which sets industry leading training standards specifically designed to change behaviour and make measurable improvements to efficiency.
Our training courses offer training to RTITB standards that indicate that a person has completed a specific course and passed the standardised practical and theory test, demonstrating their ability to operate lift trucks safely and effectively.
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
Nearby our CSCS testing site – the first of its kind in the Rotherham area – is also up and running for learners to complete and complement their Forklift Truck qualification as a separate offering. A CSCS testing centre allows people to take the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) test – also known as the Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test – which is required for most workers on UK construction sites. Once a person has passed, they can apply for the CSCS card, which proves they have the required health and safety knowledge to work safely on construction sites in the UK.
This test is a crucial assessment for individuals working in the UK construction industry which is why following the opening of our four million pound Construction Centre earlier this year, we are offering CSCS testing.
It evaluates a workerโs knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices on-site. Passing the test ensures that individuals understand how to operate safely and responsibly, helping to reduce accidents and injuries.
Holding a valid CSCS card demonstrates competence and professionalism, often serving as a mandatory requirement for site access. This not only protects the worker but also promotes a culture of safety across the industry.
Currently, the top three employment areas in the region are transport and storage, manufacturing and construction with transport and storage the highest growth industry in the region.
Labour Market Intelligence suggests that warehousing and construction are some of the fastest growing sectors in our region and to be able to offer these qualifications to support our local community in accessing these opportunities is a significant milestone in supporting these growing industries and the economic development of our region.
These two new courses and Logistics Hub will have huge benefits including:
- Sector Work-Based Academies: Promoting these programmes is a proactive approach to skills development as well as addressing industry needs and it is a valuable offering for learners.
- Close Work with JCP: We are working in collaboration with Jobcentre Plus (JCP) which is crucial for reaching a wider audience and ensuring that training opportunities are available to those who need them most. It also streamlines the process for learners.
- Targeted Training: The focus on Warehouse courses and Forklift truck training demonstrates an understanding of local job market demands and provides learners with practical, in-demand skills.
- Guaranteed Interviews: This is a significant incentive for learners and a key factor in the programmeโs success. It provides a clear pathway to employment.
