Our major role at the National Fluid Power Centre (NFPC) is to support the learning and development of the UK workforce. With over 25 years of experience, we now proudly serve the training needs of more than 300 UK companies across 27 industry sectors.

As demand for our expertise continues to grow, we are looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our team.

We are seeking engineers with strong work-based experience and application knowledge of fluid power systems who are ready to take the next step into a rewarding training and development role.

What we’re looking for

You should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Practical, work-based experience with fluid power systems
  • Experience working on and maintaining mobile plant involving fluid power OR
  • Experience working on and maintaining industrial plant involving fluid power
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification of fluid power systems
  • Ability to recognise hydraulic symbols, including their names and functions
  • Ability to read and interpret basic hydraulic circuits
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of the fluid power supply chain, including key companies
  • Strong communication skills and/or experience presenting technical information
    (further training will be provided)
  • A wide range of practical maintenance skills relating to fluid power systems
  • A home base within a reasonable travelling distance of NFPC (approximately 1 hour)

Qualifications and development

We welcome a range of engineering-based qualifications. Successful candidates will be supported and developed further to achieve a series of CETOP qualifications, enhancing both technical credibility and career progression.
