Wellbeing Week at RNN Group, and Support for Parents of Year 11 Learners

Next week is Wellbeing Week for students at the RNN Group.

A chance – after five weeks of learning, finding their way round, careers fairs, activities promotion and sign-up week and trips and making new friends – just to relax and have a bit of me time around lessons and college life.

Wellbeing week for our students

Students at Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College will be able to enjoy workshops on nutrition and health, wellbeing and mindful activities such as table tennis, games, yoga and health checks.

There will be wellbeing walks and talks on managing stress and emotions and well as various guest speakers throughout the week!

Make sure your young person is accessing all these amazing opportunities next week!

Here are a few quotes to get you through the week:

โ€œWellness encompasses a healthy body, a sound mind, and a tranquil spirit. Enjoy the journey as you strive for wellness.โ€

โ€œSelf-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.โ€

โ€œA healthy attitude is contagious but donโ€™t wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier.โ€

โ€œToday is your day to start fresh, to eat right, to train hard, to live healthy, to be proud.โ€

Support for parents of year 11 learners

We are also putting on – for a second year running – specific Information Events for Parents/Carers of current Year 11 Learners  who will be starting to have careers events, mock interviews, assemblies and information events for their next steps in their schools.

We recognise parents will find this time stressful in terms of supporting their young people with regard to their next steps, so we hope these events will remove some of the concerns.

These are not open events, they are more focused as information events with talks and information on our courses and levels including apprenticeships and T Levels as an example.

This is for parents only, as a way of supporting them at the start of this process in advance of the Open Events in November at each of our Colleges.
