Wellbeing Week

Supporting Positive Wellbeing Across Our Group

As part of our ongoing eight-week induction programme, we are pleased to be marking Wellbeing Week across the Group from Monday 5th October to Friday 9th October, leading into World Mental Health Day on Saturday 10th October.

This week is an opportunity for everyone across our Group – colleagues, learners, partners and wider stakeholders – to pause, connect and think about the simple things we can all do to support our own wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around us.

The theme for this year’s week is the Five Ways to Wellbeing:

  • Connect: Spending time with others and building positive relationships.
  • Be Active: Finding opportunities to move, exercise and look after our physical wellbeing.
  • Keep Learning: Trying something new, developing our skills and keeping our minds active.
  • Give: Supporting others and contributing to our communities.
  • Take Notice: Being present, noticing what is happening around us and taking time to reflect.

These five areas provide a simple and practical way to think about wellbeing, and they are particularly relevant as we continue to welcome and support people through our eight-week induction journey.

A week of activities across the Group

Throughout the week, our different areas will be taking part in a range of activities designed to bring the Five Ways to Wellbeing to life.

Activities include sports days, Sports4Champs, laughter therapy, opportunities to connect, learning activities, community giving and activities focused on taking notice and positive mental wellbeing. Our programme also includes contributions from partners and organisations including Weston Park, ABL Health, Nottinghamshire Health Promotion, Talkzone, Wisdom and WMIM.

The programme provides something for everyone, whether that means getting active, learning something new, spending time with colleagues and peers, giving back to the community or simply taking a moment to reflect.

Wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility

Wellbeing isn’t something we should only think about when things become difficult. It is something we can build into our everyday lives through small, positive actions.

  • A conversation with a colleague.
  • A walk outside.
  • Trying something new.
  • Helping someone else.
  • Taking five minutes to pause and be present.

Small actions can make a real difference.

As we continue through our eight-week induction programme, Wellbeing Week is also an important opportunity to reinforce our commitment to creating an environment where people feel welcomed, connected, supported and able to thrive.

Looking beyond Wellbeing Week

Although Wellbeing Week gives us a dedicated opportunity to focus on these themes, the Five Ways to Wellbeing are relevant throughout the year.

We encourage everyone across the Group to consider which of the five areas they might benefit from focusing on – and perhaps to choose one small action they can take beyond this week.

Connect. Be Active. Keep Learning. Give. Take Notice.

Together, these simple actions can help us create a healthier, happier and more connected Group.

We look forward to celebrating Wellbeing Week with colleagues, learners and stakeholders across the Group and continuing this important conversation as part of our eight-week induction programme.

Happy Wellbeing Week!
