The Power of Employer Partnerships at RNN Group
Strong employer partnerships sit at the heart of everything we do at RNN Group.
As an education and training provider, our mission is not only to support students in achieving qualifications, but to prepare them for meaningful, sustainable and successful careers. That mission would be impossible without the ongoing collaboration, care and commitment of our employer partners. #OneTeam!
Employer partners play a vital role in shaping the learning experience. By working closely with curriculum teams, they help ensure that courses remain relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with current industry standards. This means students aren’t just learning theory – they’re gaining the practical knowledge and skills that employers are actively looking for. In fast-moving sectors, this input is invaluable, helping us adapt quickly to new technologies, regulations, and ways of working.
Work placements
One of the most visible ways employers support RNN Group is through work placements, apprenticeships, and industry placements. These opportunities give students real-world experience, allowing them to apply what they’ve learned in a professional setting. This not only builds confidence but also helps students develop essential workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. For many learners, these placements become a stepping stone into full-time employment.

Beyond placements, employer partners often contribute their time and expertise in other meaningful ways. Guest lectures, workshops, and industry talks during careers weeks and throughout the academic year bring learning to life, offering students direct insight into their chosen field. Hearing from professionals who are actively working in the industry can be incredibly motivating, helping learners understand career pathways and set realistic goals for their future.
Recruitment opportunities
Employers also support us through recruitment opportunities. Many of our partners actively seek to hire RNN Group students and apprentices, recognising the value of a talent pipeline that has been shaped with their input. This creates a mutually beneficial relationship: students gain employment opportunities, and employers gain access to skilled, work-ready individuals who understand their industry needs.
Facilities and resources
Another key area of support is in the development of facilities and resources. Employer partners often advise on industry-standard equipment, software, and working environments. In some cases, they contribute directly through donations, sponsorship, or collaborative projects. This ensures that our learning environments reflect real workplaces as closely as possible, better preparing students for the transition into employment.
Employer engagement
Employer engagement through forums, business breakfasts and advisory boards also strengthens our ability to respond to local and regional economic needs. By maintaining strong links with businesses across various sectors, RNN Group can identify skills gaps and tailor provision accordingly. This responsiveness helps support economic growth, ensuring that the workforce of tomorrow is equipped to meet demand.
Ultimately, employer partners are more than just collaborators – they are co-creators of opportunity. Their support enriches the student experience, enhances the quality of education, and strengthens the link between learning and employment. At RNN Group, we are proud of these partnerships and remain committed to growing and nurturing them for the benefit of our learners, our communities, and the industries we serve.
RNN Group annual employer partners awards
These are the many reasons why we are proud to host our annual employer partners awards this week on Thursday 23rd April at our fine dining student led restaurant to celebrate our wonderful employer partners and all that they do for us. Twelve awards are up for grabs and we cannot wait to celebrate their achievements and how valuable they all are to the RNN Group.

As we look to the future, the importance of employer partnerships will only continue to grow. Together, we can ensure that education remains relevant, dynamic, and deeply connected to the world of work
