T Levels Week 2025: Spotlighting the Future of Technical Education
Next week, from 13th – 17th October 2025, the spotlight turns to T Levels Week – a national campaign dedicated to celebrating and raising awareness of T Levels, showcasing student success stories, and strengthening collaboration between education and industry.

This is more than just promotional activity. Itโs a powerful opportunity to highlight how T Levels are helping to reshape post-16 education, bridging classroom learning and real workplace skills.
Below is your guide to why T Levels Week matters, what to expect, and how different stakeholders – students, schools, employers, and communities – can make the most of it.
What Are T Levels – A Quick Refresher
To set the scene, hereโs a summary of what T Levels are and why they matter:
- Two-year technical qualifications taken after GCSEs, broadly equivalent to three A-levels in size.
- Developed in partnership with employers, to deliver the skills needed in industry.
- A balance of theory and practice: 80 % classroom-based learning and 20 % industry placement (at least 315 hours, roughly 45 days) during the two years.
- Meant to prepare students for skilled employment, higher apprenticeships, or further technical study/university.
Because of this dual approach, T Levels aim to provide students not just with knowledge, but hands-on experience that can make transitions into work more seamless.
Why T Levels Week Matters
T Levels Week is timed to:
- Raise awareness among students, parents, and teachers about T Level options and benefits.
- Celebrate success stories – spotlight students, colleges, employers who are doing impactful work in T Levels.
- Strengthen employer-education partnerships by encouraging more organisations to host placements, mentor, and get involved locally.
- Showcase innovation and best practice in how T Levels are delivered and how placements are integrated.
- Encourage uptake and improve perception, especially in areas or sectors where awareness is low.
Key Themes in 2025
Some highlights and evolving priorities to watch for this year:
- In May 2025, the national T Levels newsletter confirmed that 13th – 17th October 2025 is the fourth national T Levels Week – showing it’s becoming an established fixture in the educational calendar.
- There is ongoing attention to reforming industry placement delivery to make placements more flexible, including remote or simulated elements in some cases, to help providers and employers manage logistical challenges.
- With reports noting that uptake is lower than expected and that access to placements is often a bottleneck, this week is a chance to spotlight those challenges and explore scalable solutions.
- The drive to engage smaller businesses to host T Level students, demonstrating that even SMEs can benefit by getting early access to emerging talent.
